I am an experienced photojournalist and commercial photographer specializing in editorial portraiture, corporate photo illustration, travel and lifestyle photography.

I began my career in the Los Angeles design community but quickly developed a love of storytelling and transitioned to newspaper photojournalism. Working for organizations such as the San Bernardino (CA) Sun, the Everett (WA) Herald, and contributing to USA TODAY, I received national recognition for coverage of American presidential elections, the Summer Olympic Games, and natural and man-made disasters. Yet I was equally comfortable with the "small" stories exploring the joys and the hardships of everyday life.

After a 15-year hiatus during which I built a successful second career as a technology product manager and marketing executive, I have returned to photography and am now shooting assignments for corporate and editorial clients in the Pacific Northwest and around the country. Recent clients have included Microsoft Corporation, Social Venture Partners, Putman Media, Washington Literacy, the Institute for Community Leadership, and Seattle's Empty Space Theatre.

Drawing on my background in photojournalism and design, I strive to make powerful, graphic images that capture unique storytelling moments. Though an expert colorist, I have a love of candid black-and-white photography and am often asked to shoot specific projects in this style. I employ the latest photographic equipment and technologies, and am experienced with all forms of film-based and digital capture. In addition, I am an accomplished writer and have developed news stories, feature articles, brochures and advertising copy. I bring passion, energy, and maturity to every project.
